Jackson. 1st Batn. 5th Fusrs.), suspension claw re-affixed, nearly very fine Estimate £ 180-220 3110 Private William Jackson, born Hull, Yorkshire; enlisted 5th Foot, 1853; served with the Regiment during the Indian Mutiny, and was severely wounded at Goojeragung, 2.8.1857, during the second attempt to relieve Arrah; promoted Corporal 24.5.1860, and died of disease the following day, at Fort William, Calcutta.
