British Guiana Covers and Cancellations Inland Mail 1891 (23 Jan.) envelope posted on board a ship in Georgetown harbour and addressed within the city, bearing 1899 1c. neatly cancelled by a largely fine strike of the oval framed "demerara/Ship/letter" h.s. (T&H DSL2), sent at the City rate though deemed to be a Ship Letter and charged with manuscript "8" (5c. rate, shortage 4c., doubled), Georgetown c.d.s. on reverse; the envelope with a little foxing though the sole example recorded of this handstamp.
