(536.John McMahon, 44th Foot), edge bruising, otherwise good very fine, first and last with silver riband buckles Estimate £ 850-900 Private John McMahon, born Armagh, Redhill, Co. Covan, Ireland, attested for the 84th Regiment 1843, aged 20 years, and served with them in India; was present in Sir Henry Havelock´s 1st Relief Force of Lucknow, and was wounded 7.11.1857; transferred to the 44th Regiment 28.2.1859; was discharged at his own request to Calcutta 27.10.1863 and died there 1st March the following year.
