Williams 44th Regt.), contemporarily engraved in large serif capitals; China 1857-60, one clasp, Taku Forts 1860 (Serjt.), officially impressed; Army Long Service & G.C., V.R. (1964 Serjt Thos Williams, 44th Foot), reverse struck off centre; Turkish Crimea, British die, pierced as issued, with swivel wire rings, contact marks to first medal, otherwise very fine or better (4) Estimate £ 650-700 Sergeant Thomas Williams, born St. Stephens, London, attested for the 44th Regiment 7.2.1843 aged 18 years; promoted Corporal October 1854 and Sergeant 1859; he served over 23 years before his discharge 23.8.1866.
