Montgomery, Bernard Law, 1st Viscount Montgomery of Alamein. "Monty", senior British officer serving in WWI, the Irish War of Independence and WWII; in the Western Desert campaign of WWII, commanded the British 8th Army from August 1942 through the 2nd battle of El Alamein and on to the final Allied victory in Tunisia in August 1943; commanded the 8th Army in the invasion of Sicily and the Allied invasion of Italy; commanded all Allied ground forces in the Battle of Normandy. Autographed notecard. On a buff card, Montgomery signs in brown ink "B.L. Montgomery / nous / Montgomery of Alamein / F.M" Matted and framed with an 8 ¾ x 11 ½" B&W photo of Montgomery in uniform standing up in a desert jeep; 16 x 19". Fine.
