Merideth, George (1828-1909). English novelist and poet. ALS, 1 page, 8vo. Box Hill, Dorking, August 2, 1900. To Williams & Norgate [publishers & book import agents.] Merideth asks them to send, if at hand, "the German of Eckermann' s 'Conversations with Gothe," one of Meredith's favorite books. The present letter no doubt refers to the copy of Eckermann that Meredith dispatched to Lady Ulrica Duncombe on August 13, 1900 (vid. Letters, ed. Cline III, p.1356). Not in The Letters, ed. Cline. Conjugate leaf removed.
