Author of "Of Human Bondage", and over two hundred other books, plays and articles. ALS, 8vo. 5 Portland Place, W. 1. To Mr. Lipton. "March 13." [1940-45]. Very fine condition. "…You ask me for a definition of the meaning of success. Good heavens, what a request! And in war-time, too. No that's too difficult. But I wish you well. W. Somerset Maugham." Included is a photograph of Maugham with "For Olive Osterland, W.Somerset Maugham" at the bottom.
