1919 (30 Sept.) envelope addressed to Avonmouth, bearing 1912-24 11/2d. single and 1/- pair, tied by London E.C. c.d.s's; the envelope trimmed at places around perimeter, adhesives with a few stained perfs., otherwise fine. Special airmail services were incepted to cope with the effects of the national railway strike and operated between the 1st and 6th of October, this example being a first day of use and one of only sixteen carried, flights to Bristol probably being the rarest.
