POSTAL HISTORY England, Scotland and Wales 1737 (14 Nov.) entire letter to a clergyman at Dover, the address panel with manuscript "Selwyn Free", the reverse with fine strike of the unique double "F" in circle Receiver's mark (thought to be John Fisher, receiver at St. James 1737-38) with partial "14/NO" Bishop Mark alongside, the letter is written by Stephen Poyntz (variously Envoy Extraordinary to Sweden, Governor to the Duke of Cumberland, Privy Counsellor); fine, attractive and clean.
