11 Militia L.S. & G.C. Medals awarded to the Malta Division, Royal Engineers.
Carmelo Gristi/Grixti was born at Misida, Malta in 1889 and was a blacksmith by trade upon his joining the Malta Division (Militia), Royal Engineers in January 1909. Signing with his mark, it was noted he had previously served with the 2nd Battalion, King's Own Malta Regiment of Militia. He began his service working on the Oil Engines for Electric Lighting and in the Blacksmith's Shop. Having taken his L.S. & G.C. Medal in July 1924, he was finally discharged Lance-Corporal in January 1929. Grixti died at Hamrun on 1 November 1969; sold together with portrait photograph of the recipient and copied research.
