Lenard Dicks was born on 28 October 1912, a native of Forton, Gosport, and enlisted into the Hampshire Regiment in September 1931. He served in Malta with the 1st Battalion and was killed in action on 13 July 1942, during the height of the Siege and at a time of incessant bombing raids from the enemy. Dicks is buried in the Pembroke Military Cemetery, Malta.
