(x) Distinguished Flying Cross, G.V.R., the reverse engraved 'F/Lt J. C. O. Dickson R.F.C.', an old tailor's copy, very fine
John Charles Oswald Dickson enlisted on the 7 September 1915 and served with the South Lancashire Regiment (The Prince of Wales's Volunteers). He subsequently served with the newly formed Royal Air Force and was gazetted for his Distinguished Flying Cross on 3 June 1918. He was further entitled to the 1914-15 Star and British War and Victory Medals. Dickson served once again in the Second World War as a Major with the 8th County of Lancaster (Preston) Battalion, Home Guard.
