Walter Allan Fraser was born on 3 June 1904 at Pinjarra, Western Australia. Educated at Perth Technical College, he was an engraver when he enlisted in the R.A.A.F. Embarking for Singapore on 30 May 1941, he was posted to Far East HQ at Sime Road, Singapore as a Pilot Officer and reproduction officer for target maps in the Directorate of Intelligence. He was one of the fortunate ones to be evacuated from Singapore on 2 February 1942 on S.S. Perak before the island surrendered to the Japanese.
Arriving at Palembang, Sumatra on 4 February 1942 he was sent to Bandoeng, Java for target maps duty. Luck was on his side again as he managed to leave before the Japanese arrived on the island, arriving in Melbourne on 2 April 1942. He was attached to the R.A.A.F. printing unit as Flight Lieutenant and discharged at Perth on 20 December 1945; sold together with copied research, a riband bar and a parachutist badge.

Douglas John Griffiths was born at Coolamon, New South Wales on 15 January 1910 and enlisted in the R.A.A.F. at Wallgrove, Sydney on 17 July 1941. Posted to Egypt in May 1942, he was later served in the Middle East attached to the R.A.F. at Heliopolis. He was discharged at R.A.A.F. Tocumwal on 6 September 1945; sold together with copied research.
