Harry Alland Bartlett was born in May 1923 and joined the Royal Air Force as an Aircraft Apprentice at RAF Halton in the summer of 1939. Advanced to Corporal in January 1950, he took his discharge in July 1953, when serving in the Flying Boat Wing at R.A.F. Seletar.

Sold with the recipient's original R.A.F. Certificate of Service and R.A.F. Airman's Service and Pay Book, together with further career documentation, including letter of acceptance for his admission as an Aircraft Apprentice, dated 22 July 1939.
