Sidney Alexander Dodd enlisted into the 5th Battalion, King's Liverpool Regiment on 2 September 1920 under the service number 16977. He served with the regiment for over 30 years, rose to the rank of Major (London Gazette 21 June 1935) and was awarded the Efficiency Decoration in 1941. He was gazetted as "having exceeded the age limit of liability to recall, ceases to belong to the T.A. Res. of Offrs., 30th Apr. 1952, retaining the rank of Maj." (London Gazette 29 April 1952 refers).
Lot comes with corresponding miniature medals, the recipient's cap badge, a number of lapel badges and the cardboard box of issue for the Defence and War Medals.
