Walter John Parsons was born at Great Marlow, Buckinghamshire on 31 October 1898, he was a gardener before he enlisted into the Royal Marines Artillery on 15 November 1915. He served on Monarch between 15 August 1916 - 16 October 1919. He received his L.S. & G.C. on 24 December 1931. He completed his service on 30 October 1937 however he was Mobilised on 28 September 1938 and was attached to the Portsmouth Division from 31 July 1939 - 23 December 1944 before serving with R.M.T.G. (Wales) from 24 December 1944 - 19 July 1945. He returned to the Portsmouth Division serving between 20 July 1945 - 24 September 1945 when he was Released in Class 'A'. Parsons died on 2 February 1963.
