Arthur Noad was born at Road Hill, Frome, Somerset, on 26 August 1888. He enlisted 14 September 1914 at Coalvillle, he entered the war in France on 22 December 1914 with the 3rd Battalion Coldstream Guards, he was wounded in France 8 October 1915 with a gunshot wound to the right leg, from 6 February 1918 he served with the 3rd and 4th Battalions Guards Machine Gun Regiment with number 1858, then returning to the Coldstream Guards on 7 March 1919 with new number 2649052. He dies in active service on 15 December 1920 and is buried at Worthing Broadwater Cemetery, and listed on Commonwealth War Graves. It is not clear how he died. Next of kin given as his wife Amelia Noad of 32 North Street, Worthing.
