(x) King's South Africa 1901-02, 2 clasps, South Africa 1901, South Africa 1902 (8655 Pte T. Collins. Middlesex Regt), very fine

Thomas Collins was born in St Giles, London and worked as a labourer there until he enlisted into the 6th Battalion, The Duke of Cambridge's Own Middlesex Regiment on the 8 June 1895. He served at Home for the first five years of his military career and was then posted to South Africa between February 1900 and April 1902. He was also further entitled to the Queen's South Africa Medal with Cape Colony clasp. He discharged from service on 7 July 1903 having served at Home for the final year of his military career.
