Thomas Eggberrie Hasdell was born circa 1877 in Peterborough, Cambridgeshire and worked as a stoker before he enlisted on 6 October 1898 and served with the 64th Battery, Royal Field Artillery. Hasdell served at home between October 1898 and November 1899 before he served in South Africa between November 1899 and February 1901. He died of enteric fever on 11 February 1901 at Standerton and is commemorated on the Royal Artillery Boer War Memorial in the northeast corner of St James's Park, London.
