Army L.S. & G.C., V.R. (14574. By Q: M: Sgt E. Rock. R.A.) engraved, some light contact marks, otherwise very fine

Edward Rock was born at Cape Town, South Africa on 22 March 1864 and enlisted into the Royal Artillery. He was married for the second time to Mary Warner on 27 April 1891 at the St.Ignatius Chapel, Kirkee. Rock was briefly in the Royal Connaught Lodge at Ahmednagar, Bombay between 6 December 1892 - October 1893 and was awarded his L.S. & G.C. in April 1898 and was promoted to Riding Master with the honorary rank of Lieutenant London Gazette 12 April 1898 and placed on retired pay London Gazette 5 April 1907. He appeared to have resigned his commission on 17 April 1918. Rock died at Southampton in 1943.
