John Purkis appears on the roll with entitlement to this Medal; sold together with copied medal rolls.

John Charles Rowsell was born in Portsmouth in 1916 and saw service aboard H.M.S. Effingham in 1940, and was later awarded his L.S. & G.C. whilst serving with H.M.S. Angelo, the Royal Navy shore base at Malta, on 26 November 1952. Rowsell lived until the age of 91 and died in East Cowes on the Isle of Wight on 6 September 2007.
