A Great War D.C.M. group of three awarded to Private E. Radnall, Royal Warwickshire Regiment, who succeeded in saving a wounded officer on 8 November 1918, being severely wounded in the process

Distinguished Conduct Medal, G.V.R. (37509 Pte E. Radmall. 10/R.War:R.) note spelling of surname; British War and Victory Medals (37509 Pte. E. Radnall. R. War. R.), good very fine (3)

D.C.M. London Gazette 2 December 1919, the original citation states:

'During the recent operations he has displayed marked courage and devotion to duty. During the attack east of Malplaquet, on 8th November 1918, two officers were severely wounded on the forward slope of the hill. Enemy machine gun fire was so heavy that the troops were unable to advance beyond the crest, and one of the officers was killed. This man crawled forward, picked him up and succeeded in carrying him to the cellar of a house close by. In doing so he was severely wounded.'

A T.374. note stating that he has been awarded the D.C.M. dated 17 February 1919 and signed by Captain K. Oakley.

ii)
A further citation similar to the one above however this one notes he bandaged the officer he saved.
