Distinguished Conduct Medal, G.V.R. (15720 Sjt. E. Taylor. 2/Yorks:L.I.), lightly polished and slight pitting, very fine
D.C.M. London Gazette 2 December 1919, the original citation states:
'For conspicuous gallantry and devotion to duty on 3rd October 1918, during the successful capture of the village of Sequehart. When the advance of the company on the right of his platoon was held up by intense machine-gun fire he led his platoon forward splendidly, whereupon the company on the right rushed forward and gained the objective. Afterwards, noticing the enemy massing for a counter-attack, he went forward with an officer to where an enemy machine gun lay, seized it, and opened fire on the enemy and effectively dispersed them. He did fine work.'
