Neil Joseph Baker was born on 29 July 1927 in Campellford, Ontario. He enlisted on 21 May 1946, with his trade was listed as 'Cook'. He served for over thirty years in the Royal Canadian Navy, retiring on 16 July 1976 at the rank of Chief Petty Officer, Second Class.
