Raymond Sidney Cotterill was born at Sydney, Australia on 31 December 1932. Enlisting in the R.A.N. on 14 June 1951 he was posted to HMAS Cerberus for initial training before being posted to Albatross, the main naval air station for the R.A.N. He served on a variety of vessels notably Vengeance and later Sydney where he deployed to Korea from October 1953 until 2 June 1954. He was serving on Melbourne qualifying for his Australian Service Medal 1945-75 with 2 clasps. Cotterill was shore discharged in 1963 and died at Sydney on 18 April 2005; sold together with copied research and service papers.
