Robert Graham Platt was commissioned Lieutenant in August 1945 into the Cheshire Yeomanry (Royal Armoured Corps) and was advanced Captain in February 1953. His T.D. was confirmed in May 1959.
The unit were equipped with Cromwell and Comet tanks. It continued as such until 1958, when it re-equipped with Daimler Armoured Cars.
