William Bertrand Purslow was born at Worthen, Shropshire around 1893 and enlisted on 3 April 1911 and entered the war in France on 10 February 1915. Posted to Salonica in November 1915 he served there for the rest of the war, becoming attached to the 13th (Forest of Dean) Battalion (Pioneers), Gloucestershire Regiment in 1918. Purslow was discharged on 16 April 1919.
Sold together with copied research as well as a corresponding riband bar and silver sporting medal hallmarked for London engraved '7th K.S.L.I. Football Tournament. Colonge. 1919.'
