George W. Warner served in France with the 8th Battalion, The Queen's Regiment from 31 August 1915 and was discharged with his Silver War Badge on 27 February 1919.

The story of his Battalion is excellently told in Ian Isherwood's new publication The Battalion - Citizen Soldiers at War on the Western Front.
