The Great War Bronze Memorial Plaque awarded in memory of Private Samuel Templeton, 14th London Regiment who was killed in action on 25 September 1916
Memorial Plaque (Samuel Templeton), in card envelope of issue, extremely fine
Samuel Templeton originally enlisted in Glasgow as No.3367 with the 9th Battalion Highland Light Infantry. He transferred to the 14th London Regiment but was killed in action on 25 September 1916. He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial. Templeton is entitled to a British War and Victory Medal pair only.
The lot comes with an original letter written by Captain Scott from the London Scottish Headquarters, 59 Buckingham Gate, London, dated 12 October 1916 to his mother Mrs D. Templeton of 3 Silverfir Street, Glasgow.
