George Richard Oram was born on 22 February 1906 at Goulburn, New South Wales and enlisted in the Australian Military Forces at Sydney on 28 January 1943. Initially posted to the Australian Army Medical Corps Depot, he left Sydney on 23 August 1945 for the South West Pacific area with the 8th Mechanical Equipment Workshops, later serving with the Commonwealth Occupation Force in Japan.
He returned to Sydney for a few months before returning to Japan with the 130th Australian General Hospital. Discharged on 15 July 1948 he re-enlisted the next day in the regular army and given a new service number. He was discharged on 22 February 1961 and lived at Mosman, New South Wales. Oram died on 31 January 1988; sold together with copy service records and research.
