James Ballantyne Wilson was born on 29 June 1902. A car salesman he was commissioned as a Flying Officer in the RAAF on 17 June 1940, advanced to Squadron Leader on 1 December 1943. His service record from the National Archives of Australia state that he participated in operational flights outside Australia with no. 34 & 35 squadrons. He was discharged on 27 November 1945 and died at Toorak, Victoria on 23 August 1976; sold together with copied research.
