Enoch Johnson was born at Sutton-in-Ashfield, Nottinghamshire in 1887. He enlisted in the same village attesting into the 15th Battalion Sherwood Foresters. This unit was attached to the 254th Tunnelling Company of the Royal Engineers. Johnson was killed in action on the 6 July 1917 and is buried in the Poperinghe New Cemetery, Belgium and left a wife and four children.
