Frederick William Dalton Willson originally served in the ranks as as Private (No. 31283) with the Northamptonshire Regiment. He was commissioned into the Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment as a 2nd Lieutenant with the 1/6th (Derbyshire) Battalion on 1 August 1917. Willson served in France from 1916 and was promoted Lieutenant on 1 February 1919. His Pair were issued in 1924.
