1868-1899 Group of letters and invitations to Mr Phillipson, a bookdealer, from the German Court regarding sourcing books, maps and prints for the Crown Princess, written by A.M. Byng from the Kronprinz's Palais, with payment remittances (16); 1868 letter from Darmstadt enquiring on behalf of Prince & Princess Louis of Hesse about installing "W.closets in the new Palace quite free from any bad smell"; the Duke of Teck and Adolphus of Teck writing in 1892 re their schedules; undated letter on behalf of the Duchess of Albany re mounted panels and mounting midget photographs; and invitations to the marriage of the Comte de Paris (1864) and the Duc de Chartres, with related Kingston upon Thames ephemera celebrating the 1887 Jubilee and accession of Edward VII in 1901. Included is a pencil sketch (30x40cm, split along the folds), supposedly by Prince George of Wales aged 7 in 1872, titled in a juvenile hand "Ellen as last seen on the banks of the Nile," initialled "g.f.e", (George Frederick Ernest, the names of the future King George V) (30)
