Prince Albert
1853 Pair of covers in the hand of Prince Albert (1819-1861), both signed "Albert". A mourning envelope addressed to Rear Admiral Baillie Hamilton (Second Secretary to the Admiralty 1845-1855), has a black wax seal on the reverse and was delivered by messenger. The cover addressed to the Earl of Malmesbury at Christ Church, Hants, is franked by an imperf penny red with the royal wax seal in red. A fine pair of covers with a carte de visite of the Prince and a contemporary engraving (4)
