1851 (18 Nov.) autograph letter in German written over three sides on the Queen's personal mourning note paper from Windsor Castle to "Alfons" (Alphonse de Mensforff Pouilly) regarding a letter received from Hurmannlos[?] which she had immediately translated and with reference to "the very stupid article about Sir J. Clark and Mosulg[?] ... let me say that not one word of it is true. The Government here with one exception regrets his simple and unintelligent irresponsibility very much. Thank God he is going to America on the 20th". Signed off "Ever your dear cousin. V.R.". Also printed invitation to Queen Victoria's Coronation with manuscript additions "Upper Choir Gallery South Side" "South [Door] Poet's Corner" "[No.] 4", two vertical folds. Fine and a scarce pair.
