1849-1914 Archive of papers relating to the engraver and printer of currency, postage stamps and bond certificates, founded in 1810 and sold to De La Rue in 1961. Included are a 1d. Mulready wrapper to Waterlow & Sons, 66 London Wall with a printed advert for the London and Croydon Railways, 1873 Waterlow almanac, 1877 papers regarding a family dispute, discussing the Company's articles and various family issues, 1882 documents regarding their leasehold premises, 1914 typed letter to Dalziel Colour Press Ltd, London revealing "our Secret Mixture and process of mixing same with inks ordinarily used for 3 or 4 colour printing...", 1914 formal signed legal agreement between Waterlow Brothers and Layton Limited and the Commissioners of Inland Revenue "for the production and supply to the Commissioners of certain stamps". Sealed with the Waterlow seal and witnessed at Inland Revenue, Somerset House, London. A fascinating group (30)
