Leonard, Fort Tuli, bearing 2d. lilac and black (rounded corner) tied by Mafeking c.d.s. and barred oval numeral, redirected to Cape Town bears manuscript "4d" and handstruck "4d" twice, the reverse from a General Merchant with Maclousti (11.10), Vryburg (7.12) and Cape Town (9.12) c.d.s. By the time this letter reached Fort Tuli, Capt. Leonard (of the BSA Company Police), had left; the 4d. postage due was made as 2d. was insufficient to Fort Tuli which was outside the Protectorate.
