Chandraiah Appaiah Timayya served with the Coorg & Mysore Volunteer Rifles and was awarded his Long Service Medal as per I.A.O. 128 of March 1914. He was probably a relation of the famous General K. S. Thimayya, D.S.O., 3rd Chief of the General Staff.
