(x) An assortment of four Royal Navy pamphlets, circa 1779-1805, including two materials relating to the court-marital of Vice-Admiral Sir Hugh Palliser
The pamphlet “An Address to the Hon. Admiral Augustus Keppel, containing candid Remarks on his Defence before the Court-Martial: The Second Addition, with considerable additions, to which are added Impartial Observations on the late Trial and Acquittal of Vice-Admiral Sir Hugh Palliser, with an explanation of sea-phrases, and a letter to the monthly reviewers. By a Seaman.”, printed in London, circa 1779; “The Speech of Sir Hugh Palliser, Bart. in a Committee of the House of Commons on Monday the 4th of December, 1780.”; The pamphlet “A Vindication of the Cause of Great Britain; with strictures on the insolent and perfidious conduct of France, since the signature of the Preliminaires of Peace. To which is added a postscript, on the situation of the continent, and the projected Invasion of This Country. By William Hunter, Esq.”, printed in London, 1803; The pamphlet “Strictures on the Tenth Report of the Commissioners of Naval Enquiry. By Allan MacLeod, Esq.”, printed in London, 1805, all are bound, some with a few pages coming loose, light ageing, one with edge wear and some contemporary pen marks and notes, otherwise overall text is clear and legible (4)
