(x) Two contemporary pamphlets relating to Admiral John Byng, who was court martialled and sentenced to death by firing squad for “failing to do his utmost” in preventing the French from capturing Minorca

The pamphlet “A Letter to a Member of Parliament In the Country, From His Friend in London, Relative to the Case of Admiral Byng: with Some original Papers and Letters Which passed during the Expedition.”, printed in London, 1756; and the pamphlet “A Letter to A Gentleman in the Country, From His Friend in London: Giving an Authentik and circumstantial Account of the Confinement, Behaviour, and Death of Admiral Byng, As attested by the Gentlemen who were present.”, printed in London, 1757, the first lacking binding and with some age spots, both pamphlets are otherwise in good condition with the pages clear and legible (2)
