(x) An archive of seven Royal Navy administrative documents chiefly relating to ships’ stores and supplies, circa 1800-1801, featuring signatures of Captain John Colvill, John Nicholson Inglefield, Admiral Sir Hyde Parker, Admiral Robert Montagu, Rear Admiral Edward Thornbrough, Admiral James Hawkins Whitshed, among others
An order request to Commissioner Robert Fanshaw for two Bower Anchors for H.M.S. Temeraire, signed by Admiral James Hawkins Whitshed on board Temeraire in Torbay, dated 2 March 1800, light ageing and minor paper loss to margin and corner, text clear and legible;
Letter confirming plans for H.M. Transport Wakefield and ordnance stores, signed by Captain John Nicholson Inglefield and dated 2 March 1800, light folds and stains consistent with age;
Letter to Captain Wallis requesting review of “a quantity of Pork stinking and unfit for Men to eat” on board H.M.S. Brunswick, signed by Admiral Sir Hyde Parker on board H.M.S. Abergavenny in Port Royal Harbour, dated 9 April 1800, and reverse detailing result of ordered survey, margins reinforced with border, and light stains, but does not interfere with text;
Account of stores shipped for Antigua in the ‘Lord Hood Storeship’, detailing quantities of such goods as anchors, sails, tar, cables, hammocks, screws, books and beeswax, compiled at Deptford Yard and dated 30 May 1801, condition commensurate with age, light stains and edge wear but a clear and legible bound account;
An order to Commissioner Fanshaw for stores to be sent to H.M.S. Donegal, signed by Rear Admiral Edward Thornbrough aboard H.M.S. Mars in Cawsand Bay, dated 1 October 1801, minor margin tear, light folds and ageing, does not interfere with text;
Order requesting fruit and vegetables for the company of H.M.S. Ambuscade, having on board 236 men “of which 18 are sick”, signed on board by Captain John Colvill, dated 15 November 1801, and further detailed “approved” and signed by Richard Montagu, Commander-in-Chief of the Jamaica Station, minor edge wear and paper loss to left margin, does not obscure text;
Order requesting fruit and vegetables for the sea stick of H.M.S. Calypso, with108 men on board, ten of whom are sick, signed on board by Captain Robert Barris, dated 18 December 1801, some ageing and paper loss, reverse partially repaired with paper, does not obscure text (7)
