Roman Empire, Hadrian (AD 117-138), AR Denarii (5): i) Rome, IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRIANVS AVG, laureate head right, slight drapery at far shoulder, rev. P M TR P COS III, Hadrian seated left on platform, giving to citizen, LIBERAL AVG/III in exergue, 2.84g (RIC 309; BMC 293; Strack 70), some marks, but otherwise good fine and rare; ii) as before, rev. P M TR P COS III, Mars advancing right, holding spear and trophy, 3.11g (RIC 320; BMC 112), spotted with corrosion but good fine; iii) another, as before, laureate head right, rev. P M TR P COS III, Genius standing left, sacrificing with patera and holding wheat, 3.09g (RIC 355; BMC 179 var. (drapery)), some corrosion and verdigris to portrait, good to fine; iv) another, as before, laureate and draped bust right, rev. P M TR P COS III, Libertas seated left, holding branch and sceptre, LIB PVB in exergue, 2.64g (RIC 367; BMC 286), about fine; v) another, as before, laureate head right, rev. P M TR P COS III, Salus seated left, feeding snake, coiled around altar to left, out of patera, SAL AVG in exergue, 2.92g (RIC 374; BMC 314), fair to good; (5).
