Roman Empire, Hadrian (AD 117-138), AR Denarii (5): i) Rome, struck 118, IMP CAESAR TRAIAN HADRIANVS AVG, laureate head right, drapery at far shoulder, rev. P M TR P COS II, Concordia seated left, holding patera and resting elbow upon figure of Spes, CONCORD in exergue, 2.97g (RIC 108; BMC 81), deposits to reverse, fine; ii) another, as before, rev. P M TR P COS II, Fortuna seated left, holding cornucopiae and rudder, FORT RED in exergue, 2.93g (RIC 114; BMC 69), spots of verdigris and corrosion, overall about fine; iii) another, as before,rev. P M TR P COS II, Aeternitas standing facing, head left, holding busts of Sol and Luna, AET-AVG across fields, 2.88g (RIC 130; BMC 57), some splits to the edges, some corrosion, slightly rough surfaces, good to fine, a relatively scarce type; iv) another, as before, rev. P M TR P COS III, Pax standing left, 3.05g (RIC 225; BMC 194 var. (bust)), spots of corrosion, good to fine; v) another, as before, 3.05g, verdigris to obverse, otherwise a nice portrait and residual lustre, near very fine; (5).
