(x) Cnut 'the Great' (1016-1035), 'Pointed Helmet' Type, Penny, 1023-1029, Rochester, Leofwine, + CNVT RECX A, draped bust left wearing pointed helmet with central vertical line of three pellets and pellet on rim of helmet, sceptre (no trefoil) before, drapery with four horizontal folds (no pellets) breaking inner circle, rev. + LIOFPINE ON ROFI, voided short cross, limbs united at base by two concentric circles with pellet in centre, in each angle, broken annulet enclosing pellet, within inner circle, 1.02g [15.74grns], 9h (Hildebrand G; SCBI -; North 787; BMC XIV; S.1158), softness of strike to portrait, otherwise lightly toned, an evidently extremely rare issue for this moneyer, strictly about very fine, with no parallel on EMC/SCBI
