(x) Cnut 'the Great' (1016-1035), 'Pointed Helmet' Type, Penny, 1023-1029, Canterbury, Wulfstan, + CNVT RECX AI, draped bust left wearing pointed helmet with double central vertical line enclosing three pellets, the front of the helmet rests on the base of the nose, trefoil-tipped sceptre before, drapery with four horizontal folds and five pellets breaking inner circle, rev. + PVLSTAN ON CENTP: voided short cross, limbs united at base by two concentric circles with pellet in centre, in each angle, broken annulet enclosing pellet, within inner circle, 0.94g [14.51grns], 9h (Hildebrand 188 [Type G]; SCBI 13 [Copenhagen, Part IIIa], 203, 208, 210-212; SCBI 42 [South Eastern Museums], 1050; SCBI 51 [Estonian], 660; North 787; BMC XIV; S.1158), striking softness at 8-9 o'clock on obverse and corresponding 5-6 o'clock on reverse, brighter surfaces, about very fine or better for strike
