Arthur Henry Dunnington was born at West Hartlepool in 1895. Joining the Royal Field Artillery on 3 September 1914 he entered the war in France on 11 May 1915, completing his service on 5 March 1919. He re-attested at Bangalore the following day and extended his service to complete 12 years on 14 May 1922, later again re-attesting to complete 21 years with the Colours on 4 April 1928. Dunnington was discharged on 21 September 1938 but immediately re-attested into the Royal Artillery (T.A.). Dunnington later died on 16 March 1965.
