M.S.M. London Gazette 17 June 1918.

George Henry Edwards served in the Great War, disembarking in France on 11 Aug 1914 as a Private with the Army Service Corps. He earned his M.S.M. for his valuable service in France, during which time he was attached to the No. 4 Base Supply Depot. Edwards' award appeared in the London Gazette on 17 June 1918.

There are two M.I.C.s issued to George Henry Edwards, R.A.S.C., possibly as a result of some confusion with his service number. Edwards' British War and Victory Medals were returned and reissued to him on 16 October 1923 at the Aldershot Depot. It appears that he was also incorrectly reissued with a 1914-15 Star, which was returned to the Home Office via the police; sold together with copied research.
