Leslie Thomas Goring was a native of Canterbury, Kent, and was serving as a Corporal with the Army Service Corps on the outbreak of the Great War. Entering the War in France on 25 September 1915 he was advanced Squadron Quartermaster Sergeant, later earning the M.S.M. with the 25th Divisional Train.
