William A. Hutton joined the first roll of the St. John Ambulance Brigade at Cheltenham in 1909. He served as Medical Officer between June 1915 and January 1919 at the St. John Hospital in Cheltenham. Hutton featured in the Cheltenham Chronicle and Gloucestershire Graphic of 4 October 1930 where he is confirmed as the Corps Surgeon, he along with others in the photograph had completed 21 years' service.
